Trim the tissue paper sheets to the size of 30cm by 20 cm. You can make the pieces bigger or smaller depending on the size of flower you would like to create.

Lay the sheets on top of each other and then, beginning from the short side (in our case 20cm), fold the tissue paper in the concertina style (as if folding to create a paper fan).

This is what the tissue paper should look like after folding it.

Take the pipe cleaner or wire and wrap it tightly around the centre, securing it with a simple knot. Twist the excess wire strands together (this will create the stem of your flower).

Cut the ends of the paper into a round or pointed shape, depending on how you like your flower petals (we chose round).

Open the folds gently to create a bow tie like shape.

Holding the stem at the bottom, pull each layer of tissue paper out of the concertina folds towards the middle. Be very carful when doing this as not to rip any of the tissue paper.

Congratulations! You have made your tissue paper flower!!
